Napolean Mastiff

Hello everyone......I am Tiger....I am a Napolean Mastiff aged 2 yrs.....
I come all the way from Hubli with hope in my heart to find a new home.
My previous master could not take care of me because of their unavoidable assignment in Europe, but I know that they love me very much as they could not see me being left in an unknown place. I could see their eyes filled with tears as i was being taken away from them.......

Momo & Shadow - Adoption

Hi we are Momo & Shadow.....though we are not related by blood but we still behave like siblings.

Though we fight when together, we miss each other a lot when we are far from one another. Our previous parents could not take us with them so they left us here at the Karuna shelter so that we find a new home together.

We have been potty trained & also to behave decently with friends and scare away any enemies. We wish to find a new home where our parents take us together and love us.

I will also protect you from any harm and danger that may come upon you.

Alex

Hello people!

I am Alex. I am a labrador, I am just one and a half years old.
I have just come to KARUNA, and getting adjusted to this which seems so easy as i see many other like me left here by their owners to find a new home.
We are taken excellent care of by the people here and they are always striving each of us a good home so that we never miss our previous owners, and the new owners can take care of us.
I am very found of playing and would like to find companions to play with, I promise to never hurt anyone.

Blacky

Hi, this is Blacky here ( christened by the people at KARUNA)
I have a very interesting story to tell about myself. I met with an accident about 5 months back. The people of KARUNA rescued me from the streets before i died and brought me here. The doctors at KARUNA took excellent care of me for 5 months, and their hope in me helped me in recovering soon.

Though I lost 1 leg in the accident, I have gained immense faith in myself and think that nothing is impossible if you put your heart into it.
I hope to find a new home where people will love me just the way I am.

Sai Priya-Adoption

Sai Priya: :D
Hey all!!!

About me...

I am Sai Priya, the new member of the KARUNA family.

My Ma'm has left me here as she could not afford to spend time with me. I know how she looked for options to find me a better place before she brought me here. Her constant worry regarding my care and affection made her choose Karuna as the last resort.

Though I feel the same warmth and safety at Karuna, I do miss my old home where I had spent the last two years. I am glad that I have many companions to talk and play with! Though my heart misses my old home, I am eager to find a new home very soon!!!

Looking forward to meet you all! :)

Caezar- No more a Caesar!

I was here yesterday and today I am back to my lovely old place. My master has made a difference in helping me find a lovely new master whom I now adore. He was always there to take care of me, when my old master was out of town. My new master is a noble neighbor, who now takes me back to make me his own pet!
I am grateful and thankful to him for understanding me! I wish all my friends here get lovely and adorable masters. It feels great to realize how important you are to a social animal! :D

Caezar & Kalyan: Cheers!!!
I also express my gratitude to Karuna for having accepted me with warmth, though it lasted only for a day!

Jimmy- Adoption

Main Jimmy!

I come from a filmy background; a descendant of the Hum Aapke Hain Kaun POM (all of you must be familiar with me by now). Yes, I am Jimmy. I don’t know why I was left here. We were staying happily and I thought this would come to be a “They lived happily ever after” story. Here I am happy and making merry with all my assistant friends who walk me around in the evenings.
I am friendly and docile. Well, I don’t let the cheats escape at any cost! I look forward to a sweet and loving person who could take me as his or her own.

Pinky- Adoption

Pinky: Hey hiiii!!!

I am cute, sweet and beautiful! Well, this is what everyone has to say when they pay us a visit. I look to talk to everyone. They say she is very friendly and so am I. I look to make a mark so that I find a human companion who could listen to me when I talk. I have so much to tell, so much to share that I really find it difficult to break it into parts and continue the same to people who come by. I play with the key chains they drop near me!
Despite that I am still in search of the person who would take me from here...

Elsa, GSD

Elsa: The last ride

The doctors have given up and so has my Madam. They say that I would need support all throughout and that brings me in the arms of Karuna. I have been a favourite for six years as they fondly called me “Elsa”. I remember all the times when we played around and I received appreciation for being a beautiful pet. Now that I am rendered helpless, I seek shelter and solace in Karuna.

Dockla, The Rottweiler - A Final Word

Happy!
Dockla
I have been a recent entry in the category of ferocious dogs. People say that the countries abroad have put a ban on me. I am notoriously known for biting my owner! Well this kinda sounds lame to me. I am healthy, wealthy and wise. My Sir leaves me here as he leaves abroad for pursuing his masters. I was tastily fed and I will miss my Sir for that.

Now, Dockla waits here to see the lucky one to take me home.

Well, here I have found the lucky one! Hope I prove to be the same to him!

I will miss Karuna and all my new friends. The three day stay was all luxurious!

Nandi- Adoption

He is ferocious! He is aggressive! He bit my child!
My master had tamed me only after he knew that I was ferocious and aggressive. I thought that Lab is known for its aggressiveness. Frequent complaints against me bring me to Karuna. It was a tough time when my master hugged me and I could sense the fear of being left. I requested him that I would not bite anyone again for any reason whatsoever. I apologized him for the costs he had to bear because of me. He nodded helplessly and I could see that there was no way out to convince him. He took me on a walk to make me feel better and cried like a child as he gave up my ownership. I waited for three days to make myself believe that he was no longer going to come back.
I might look ferocious, but I still yearn for a home and love!

Ruby- Adoption

It all happened so suddenly. This place looks so new and different. I still remember the day they took me home. I have spent my childhood with a family that showered fondness and love. Now that my dad leaves me here, I tried to convince myself that he has a genuine reason behind doing so. As he shed tears, I too shed tears and the tears spoke all. I wished he would come back and never let me go. However, it looked inevitable, as he waved at me and did not turn back for the fear of losing me. The reminiscences of the past four years came flooding as the distance grew and I could no longer see him. His red swollen and sunken eyes said, “We love you Ruby and we want you to be safe in Bangalore”.
Ruby: She is precious
I knew that Delhi did not want me... So here, I await the same love and a new home at Karuna...

Pratham

The first one: Pratham

It is quite irritating to have a plaster around your limbs that restrict the movement of your legs! I do understand how important it is to restrain my movement in order to make me able to walk again. I have a similar story to share as Preethi. But the flag of hope that I would be a four legged animal flies high in me. I have troubled Dr.Tahir to an extent that he has to attend to me twice a day to ensure my dressing in place. Despite that, he has always been patient, gentle and loving to me. I look upto him for that and await his presence every day. He always tries to threaten me saying that he would opt to put a rod (as in humans). Fortunately or unfortunately, the facilities have not yet seen the light for the dog community.
I relish the food for every reason; a stray did not have had better! I miss my friends back home. They would surely be happy when I surprise them in the best of my health.

Preethi

Preethi: "I can walk!"

I lay on the ground helpless, unable to move. Howling in pain, moaning to find someone to rescue me in vain. I wish I could speak in a human understandable way to reach for help. Clouds of despair surrounded me as I finally slid into unconsciousness. All I vaguely remember is some help reaching me and getting me where I now belong. Karuna has now been my home for 20 days. The compassion of the people has made me understand the essence of the name. Dr. Swetha has been a loving and a caring friend. Preethi, she calls and I try to leap on my feet. Her kindness and love towards me is what I will cherish for my lifetime. Though I somehow understand that I will never be able to walk normally, it is her belief in me that keeps me going. Her attempts to make me feel better fill me with immense happiness and hope to be content.
I feel glad for having had a lovely dog friend. The welcoming staffs’ takes great care to feed me on time and take me around in a small trolley designed for me. I wish to get back well soon. I will surely miss my doctor here!

Straight from the Heart!

The Mom speaks...

Dear Readers,

Wishing you all a very colourful, wonderful and a safe Holi!

I am glad for the beautiful introduction and as such not left with much to say. I would just like to put it in simple that I love my children and provide them with the best I can. I have taken care to see that all of us despite the variety of species and breeds, live in peace and harmony. Every child of mine is special and unique in its own way. Though they are naughty, ferocious at times, they are fun and I thoroughly enjoy their company. I am blessed to have such beautiful children. I hope I have been successful in filling the void of  affection and care they perhaps could have never experienced.
I have promised myself that my children would never feel the dearth of food, company and above all love! I would also like to introduce you to all my children who add to my strength and do trouble my people at times!

Here they are... I assure you that you will fall in love with them!!!

Love,
Mamma :)

Karuna Animal Welfare Association of Karnataka

A warm welcome to all our readers! :)

With this first post of ours, we wish to introduce you to our very own Mother who has been sheltering our animal friends that have been left uncared for. She is an epitome of love, care, affection, fondness, responsibility and perhaps all the synonyms we could use. She stands true to her name "KARUNA" as she showers happiness and a feeling of security for her animal children who are at peace with the world.

Her compassion is as commendable as the people who work for her. They have left no stone unturned to ensure the well being of the mother and her children as well. In today's scenario, when people keep hopping from one job to another to find a better opportunity, her people have been loyal to her serving her for decades for now.

We take pride in introducing you to Karuna Animal Welfare Association of Karnataka, that has been sheltering domestic animals for over a century now!

Through this blog, we take you on a tour of Karuna, her activities, her children and all that encompasses her as a non-profit organization. If you wish to be a part of our family, write to us at karunaanimalwelfare@gmail.com
